• APA Grade Description
Grade A Veneer: Shall be firm, smoothly cut, free of knots, pitch pockets, open splits and other open defects. Suitable for painting and a laminate base.

Grade B Veneer: Shall be solid and free from open defects and broken grain. Minor defects (to be repaired by synthetic fillers) not to exceed 5% of panel area. Suitable for concrete forms and industrial applications.

Grade C Veneer: Defects that will not impair the strength of the panel are permitted. Suitable for residential sheathing and industrial crating.

Grade D Veneer: Large knots, splits and voids permitted provided they do not “seriously” impair the strength of the panel. Used as a backer panel only.

Smooth: aa, ab, bb = two sides good.
ac, ad, bc, ul, pts = one side good.

Rough: cd

Panels available marine grade, fire retardant and CCA treated.
